Merry Christmas from Euro Travel Coach in Copenhagen!!

Amazing Advent Calendar on a church in Copenhagen

No more Christmases in Stephenville for this family.  We have had so many wonderful, loving, festive celebrations at home and they warm this momma's heart.  I take those treasured memories with me as we celebrate in new ways in new places.  This year we're visiting Chelsea and Sam in Copenhagen.  It's our first time here and we are LOVING it so much!  Tomorrow night is Christmas Eve.   The Anglican Church has a children's nativity service with carols in English at noon (yes, noon on the day before Christmas!) where families are invited to come dressed as their favorite nativity character.   We may go there or we may go to a Danish church.  But the services will be in the afternoon.  Most of the stores are closed on the day before Christmas so we'll spend our time together going to church, cooking, and celebrating the day.  We'll have duck on Christmas Eve and FLÆSKESTEG, traditional Danish pork roast with crackling, on Christmas Day.

Some things will be traditional for us, with a twist.  We always make cinnamon rolls with Rhodes frozen bread to pop in the oven on Christmas morning so everyone wakes up to the aroma of brown sugar and butter wafting through the house.  There are no Rhodes frozen rolls here at the Irma grocery store across the street.  We'll have to come up with a new version of our easy yet delicious cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.

But the most important things will be true no matter where we are or what we do -- the love of family, care for others, and the peace of Christ are with us always, every where.  We are celebrating Christmas together as a family.  There is nothing better.  We hope you celebrate Christmas with those you love, too.  Being together is the best.
